The classes
in this division will last for one and a half hours and will include academic
ballet, toe, supported adagio and variations from the current and traditional
repertoire.
Regular and lengthy practice, both supervised and independent, is required
to master the various positions and movements. The students' body must be
trained by rigid discipline until the technique is so fully mastered that
it does not have to be thought about. Then the dancer is free to use the
body as an instrument and is ready to cope with the different styles and
interpretations of the choreographer. Dancers in this division are eligible
to audition for the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet. Through this training our
graduates are able to take their place in any professional ballet company
in this or any country.
